panda bear has been a tease lately. and while i got angry this summer, i now understand.
when i get a new album, it is usually in addition to two or more other albums. i pick which one to focus on, and even then i don’t give a lot of thought to the listens. just enough to get a general feeling, then move on to the three still sitting in a pile.
there have been a few albums that i didn’t do this to. for instance, fleet foxes’ ragged wood was in ear buds for a solid month - nothing else. animal collective’s merriweather post pavillion was so highly anticipated that once i got my hands on it i didn’t let go.
so i see, noah lennox, what you’re trying to do to me. i see that taking an album in (painfully) one song at a time is the best way to fully absorb it. i get it.
plus, october 19th is creeping up pretty soon. i guess i can wait until then.
but this beauty of a song, “alsatian darn,” is my song of the day. unfortunately, belle & sebastian’s write about love which i just got my hands on last night will have to understand.
